I was up early today, outside with our dogs by 6:30 a.m. The sun was not up yet; I looked up and enjoyed the bright stars. Orion, one of the few star formations I can identify, was over the southern sky. The wind is supposed to pick up later today, gust mightily. The leaves will blow, crackle as they meet the ground.
I walked by myself this morning, since Mick had an early class to teach today. That gave me time to think about all kinds of things, which is the best thing about walks by myself. It’s my preferred form of meditation, when thoughts bubble up, I look at them, and move on. Today, I feel grateful. And lucky. We live in an area that is generally peaceful, it’s my favorite time of year, and our weekend was full of celebration because it was Mick’s birthday on Saturday.
Yes, this is self-indulgent. But I took photos. And I am so happy to be alive in this world.
