Flower Songs

And so we find ourselves in mid-June, flowers opening, their perfume attracting both us and bees.

Shrub roses with bumblebee

On Monday, I had a wonderful time photographing flowers in my friend Marie's garden, meandering among roses and peonies and poppies and irises, stepping over hostas and bugle weeds and vincas, sniffing perfumed petals, and letting the garden work its restorative magic.

I never get tired of the way flowers give everything, nothing held back, lovely in every stage of life.

May we all have someone in our life who understands how to live like a flower.

Happy Wednesday.
