What do you wish for? Peace, love, harmony? Restoration of net neutrality? An erasure of all misogyny? A deeper understanding of those who don’t look like us, whoever we are?
Or maybe your wishes are a little closer to your own table and include enough money to pay the heating bill, decent health care that doesn’t force you to choose between the rent and prescription medicine, food free of processed crap, decent child care options.
Maybe your wishes fall somewhere in the middle of that continuum: work that makes a difference, a college degree for your kid, a car with better gas mileage, more dinners with friends.
Whatever your wishes are, may the looming new year bring you closer to them. May it bring us all closer to being a kinder civilization.
Happy holidays to all. One Minnesota Writer will be on break until January 8, 2018.
