Springing into Action

Happy spring, everyone! Here in Minnesota, it doesn’t feel terribly spring-like yet. We still have a few inches of snow on the ground in the Twin Cities and our winter coats are still part of our daily outfits. But change is in the air.

I’ve been consumed with working on the spring 2018 issue of Gyroscope Review. This is the largest single issue we’ve produced so far and it’s our third anniversary issue. That it’s going to be available to kick off National Poetry Month is a bonus. So, if any of you are interested in contemporary poetry, I really hope you check out this issue and Gyroscope Review‘s website, which will be running interviews with poets every single day during the month of April.

Speaking of Gyroscope Review, my co-editor Constance Brewer and I were featured on Trish Hopkinson’s poetry blog back in February. If you aren’t familiar with Trish’s blog, she offers poets an enormous amount of information and resources. If you’re interested in finding out more, I’ll politely suggest you begin with our interview here, because I have no shame: https://trishhopkinson.com/2018/02/16/no-fee-submission-call-editor-interview-gyroscope-review-deadline-mar-15-2018/

If you’re in the mood for spring poetry, this is for you: SPRING by Mary Oliver

And, with that, I have more work to do elsewhere. See you next week.
