Stop and Smell the Flowers This Summer

On Sunday evening, we visited some elderly friends, Bill and Leola. Bill is a retired scientist and will turn 94 this summer. Leola is Bill’s broadly-educated partner who, in her late eighties, still gardens, reads, stays current on politics and world events. We talked about many things during our visit and Leola insisted on taking me out to their substantial garden for a bouquet of peonies and iris. #gallery-9214-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-9214-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 100%; } #gallery-9214-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-9214-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

I love these little reminders that taking time for beauty, for growing things, is what summer is all about. As is life. Enjoy.
